Challenge the Limits! Something that scares me but gives that adrenaline rush too.... So after multiple motorbike rides, car drives, running, trekking and 2 failed attempts to ride a bicycle to the top of Nandi Hills, here came a new challenge, The Nandi Epic Road Race by Bangalore Bicycle Championships . A 68.7km Road race that starts from the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway (Century Sports Village), straight till Chikaballapur (25kms), a U-Turn, then 23 more kms on the highway, turning right onto the road that leads to Nandi Hills, and finally after 61kms of rolling terrain (ups n downs with 300m elevation), the final ascent of 7kms - 450meters (about 40 floors of a building) that seem impossible on a bicycle for a newbie cyclist like me.... So I registered 4 weeks ago, thinking lets give it a shot. Was not actively preparing for the race, but managed to do a few 30-40km rides, with flyovers as the tough areas, and this was a big mistake because the actual test was as steep as 30 f

I have to admit, Triathlons are for the crazy people... We hear about triathlons, ironman races, etc... for those who may not be aware of it, a triathlon is a mix of 3 sports - Starts with Swimming, Then ride a Bicycle and finally Run... There are various distances and here is a glimpse of it: So now, to my story! Last few years, Ironman has been a trending topic in the running fraternity, thanks to Milind Soman inspiring millions. I wondered, should I even attempt this sport (not the Ironman, but the easiest of them all - the sprint or super sprint distance?).. and there I decided to attempt a triathlon in future. This Year, in Feb, I heard a new term - the Ultraman! It is double the Ironman distance, and I was shocked to see some of the athletes from India not just attempting it, but doing really well... that was the single most inspiring news. So I started reading and researching about the sport. Swimming - till 1st May, 2017, the maximum i could swim was abou

Adventures are addictive! Especially those where you have faith in your abilities, there is a kick in your mind to try new things, and a little bit of support and encouragement by 1-2 people! ….. and in some cases, you are not trained for it, have any past experience or knowledge… you wish to attempt the adventure…..which, by definition, comes under “Crazy”. So here is my experience of Crazy. I have been running at 5-10K events since March 2015. After a year of running, I trained for 21km (half marathon) for 3 months and attempted one on June 18 th , and completed in 2:35 mins. Since then have done 12 half marathons in 8 months across Cherrapunji, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bombay, Mysore, Auroville (Pondicherry), and six in Bangalore. In Feb, was following the Indian athletes completing the Ultraman – 10km swim, 420km cycling and 84km running in 36 hrs.. was inspired to the sky at atleast attempt a basic triathlon in a year or two. On 15 th  March, I completed 31years, and wa
